Open the Website Builder, pick a template, then choose how to continue: let BYQ's built-in assistant adapt it for you, edit it yourself, or connect your own AI tool. Your site is created right away and a live preview opens beside the chat.
Not sure which way to pick? See Start here: which way to build.
Use BYQ's built-in assistant for the quickest start. Edit by hand if you only need to change words, photos or colours, because that is free. Use your own AI tool, such as Claude or Cursor, if you already pay for one or want to keep your BYQ AI tokens. You can mix all three on one site.
Everything you do by hand: the Style panel, Pages, moving and removing sections, editing text, images and icons, your CMS items, undo and restore, and publishing. Building with your own AI tool uses no BYQ AI tokens either.
Messages to BYQ's built-in assistant, library inserts, effects and the Ask AI bar do use tokens. The full list is in What uses tokens, and what is free.
Only when BYQ's built-in assistant does work for you: chatting with it, adding a section or effect from the library, using the Ask AI bar, or having it write a new page. Editing by hand is free, and so is building with your own AI tool. The full list is in What uses tokens, and what is free.
Yes. On the welcome card, choose I'll edit it myself to skip them and change things by hand. Choose Use my own AI agent to build with Claude, Cursor or Codex, which never asks them. If you do answer, you can press Skip on any optional question.
Pick Fast for quick edits, because it uses about half the tokens. Pick Best for bigger changes. Free plans use Fast. On Pro, the monthly allowance is smaller than one full build on Best, so Fast is the better choice for small edits.
Yes, roughly. When your balance is low, a note under the chat box shows what a full build takes: about 25 to 35 BYQ AI tokens on Best and 10 to 20 on Fast. A small edit costs a fraction of a token, and you are charged for what the AI actually did.
In the editor, choose Connect your own AI Agent via MCP, add BYQ to your tool, and sign in with your BYQ account. On the BYQ page that opens, keep Build sites ticked and approve. Then ask your tool to build your site. Step by step: Build with your own AI tool.
Yes. Both work on the same site and share one version history, so your AI tool can keep building while you click to edit or change the Style panel. If a change needs BYQ's built-in assistant, your AI tool makes it in code instead.
Not on its own. To take a site built this way live, you need Pro or Ultra, or hosting for that one site at $15 a month. Until then you can build it and preview it in the BYQ editor.
No. Every site starts from a BYQ template, so you can't bring in a site from Webflow, WordPress or files. You can still rewrite the template, restyle it and add pages until it looks like yours.
You can have 3 sites on Free, 10 on Pro and as many as you like on Ultra, within fair use. You can also create up to 3 new sites a day on Free and 30 a day on Pro and Ultra.
Yes, on Ultra, on any site with its own hosting, and on your own domain. Sites on a byqsite.com address show a small badge until then.
The build stops and everything built so far is saved. Top up, then send continue in the chat and it picks up where it stopped. Editing by hand still works at a zero balance, and so does building with your own AI tool.
Most often your site hit its daily limit for how long your AI tool can keep it open: 3 hours on Free, 12 on Pro and 24 on Ultra. Try again later or upgrade. If your tool says it was told to slow down, wait about a minute. If it says a change needs BYQ's built-in assistant, make that one change in the editor.
