CMS

Manage posts, projects, products and other repeating content as items you edit like a spreadsheet.
Works with
  • BYQ Website Builder

A CMS keeps content that repeats, such as blog posts, team members or products, as items in a collection instead of text scattered across your pages. Change an item once and every place that shows it updates. The CMS view is available on sites that have a CMS.

Open the CMS

Switch the main view from Preview to CMS. Your collections are listed on the left. Pick one to see its items in a table with a search box. Editing items yourself uses no AI tokens.

Add and edit items
  1. Press the new-item button, which is named for the collection, such as New post.
  2. Fill in its fields.
  3. Save. You see "Saved. Publish to put it live."

Saving updates the preview straight away. The live site changes the next time you publish.

Drafts

Every item is either Draft or Published. A draft is hidden on your live site and still shows in the preview. A published item shows on your site once you publish. Select several items to switch them between the two together. You can also duplicate an item.

Collections and fields

Press the + button (New collection) to start from a ready-made set: Blog posts, Projects, Team members, Events, Products, Services, FAQs, Testimonials, or Blank. Change the fields afterwards. A field can be one of these types:

  • Text, Long text and Rich text
  • Image, Icon, Video and Gallery
  • Date and Number
  • Switch (on or off) and Option
  • Link
  • Reference and Multi-reference, which connect items from other collections

Collections that show a detail page give each item its own page, listed under Collection pages in the Pages tab.

Show CMS content on your pages

Click a section in the preview. If its content comes from the CMS, choose Edit in CMS. A section of repeated cards can be linked with Connect to CMS, and Disconnect from CMS turns it back into static content on that page.

Ask AI about your items

The box above the table reads Ask AI about your collection, for example "add 3 more" or "write the missing summaries". With items selected, you can ask about just those, such as "translate them to German". The agent does the work, so it uses AI tokens.

Limits by plan
  • Free: you can edit the collections your site came with but cannot add new ones. Up to 30 items per collection.
  • Pro: up to 10 collections per site and 500 items per collection.
  • Ultra: up to 40 collections per site and 5,000 items per collection.

On Free, adding a collection shows "Adding collections is on Pro and Ultra." See the pricing page for plans.

Deleting is undoable

Deleting an item or a whole collection removes it from your site on the next publish. You can undo it from the version history; see The editor at a glance.

Next: Versions, undo and restore.

Every change is saved as a version, so you can undo a mistake or go back to any earlier state of your site.
