Pages, menu and 404

Manage every page of your site by hand, for free, and control what visitors see when a link is broken.
Works with
  • BYQ Website Builder

The Pages tab lists every page of your site by name. Click one to open it in the preview, or use Go to a page at the top to jump between them. Managing pages here uses no AI tokens, except where noted below.

Add a page
  1. Press New page.
  2. Choose how to start it: With AI, Blank or Template.
  3. Enter a Name. The URL fills in from it, and you can edit it.
  • With AI asks What should be on it? and the agent builds the page. It uses AI tokens. Switch on Add it to the menu to get a link in your navigation.
  • Template copies a page from the template you started from. It is free, and you can open the original in a new tab first.
  • Blank gives you your header and footer on an empty page, also free.
Page settings

Open a page's settings with the gear to change:

  • Menu label, the text of its link in the menu.
  • Search title and its description, as shown in Google.
  • URL. Use letters, numbers and dashes, like /our-team. If another page already has that address, you are told. When you change an address, Redirect is on by default, so visitors and search engines who use the old link are sent to the new page.
  • Draft. A draft is left out of your next publish, and links to it lead to your 404 page until you publish it.
  • Hide from search engines, from your next publish.
  • In the menu, with Add to menu if it is missing.

Links on your site follow a new address.

Duplicate, reorder, remove

Duplicate a page, drag pages into your order, or remove one. Removing shows "Undo it from the chat", and any change can also be undone from History. Your home page is locked: it always lives at / and cannot be removed.

When the panel can edit your menu, the footer says The menu follows this order. Otherwise it offers Put the menu in this order, which asks the agent and uses tokens.

Collection pages

If you use the CMS, collection pages are listed separately. Each item gets its own page, and you edit them in the CMS. See CMS.

The 404 page

Open Settings and go to the 404 & redirects tab. Under Pages that don't exist, choose what visitors see for typos, old links and removed pages:

  • Show a 404 page. Your site's own 404 page, or a clean "Page not found" with a link home.
  • Send visitors home. Nobody sees an error. Search engines still learn the page doesn't exist.

Design your 404 page has the agent build one in your site's style, with a clear way back home. That uses tokens.

Redirects

In the same tab, Add redirect sends an old address to a new page or to another website. Enter the old address, like /old-page, and the new one, like /new-page. Redirects are Permanent (308) by default, which tells search engines the page moved for good. You can have up to 50.

Next: CMS.

Keep repeating content like posts, team members and products as items you edit in a table, then publish to put them live.
