Website Builder

Website Builder

The Website Builder is for people who want a finished site without building it in Webflow, Framer or code. You start from a BYQ template, then adapt it with BYQ's built-in assistant, edit it by hand, or connect your own AI tool. To start, open the Website Builder, pick a template and publish on a free byqsite.com address or your own domain.

Website Builder Docs Overview

What is the Website Builder

Start from a library template, adapt it by chat with a live preview, and publish it for free. Here is what each plan includes.

Start here: which way to build

Use BYQ's assistant, edit it yourself, or bring your own AI tool. What each way costs and which to pick.

What uses tokens, and what is free

Which builder actions are free, which use BYQ tokens, and which run on your own AI plan, with what each plan gets.

Build with your own AI tool

Use Claude, Cursor, Codex or any MCP tool to build your site on your own AI plan, with no BYQ AI tokens and no setup questions.

Start a site and answer the setup questions

Pick a template, answer ten short questions in the chat, and the agent rewrites the words, pages and photos for your business.

The editor at a glance

The five tabs, the three views, Select and Browse, keyboard shortcuts and the Help menu.

Ask the agent for a change in plain words, queue more while it works, answer its questions and attach images or a brief.

Click any text, image, icon or section in the preview to change it yourself, with no AI tokens.

Style panel and themes

Change your whole site's colours, fonts, sizes, spacing, corners and buttons in one place, live and free.

Pages, menu and 404

Add, rename, reorder and hide pages, keep your menu in sync, and decide what visitors see at an address that does not exist.

Keep repeating content like posts, team members and products as items you edit in a table, then publish to put them live.

Versions, undo and restore

Every change is saved as a version, so you can undo a mistake or go back to any earlier state of your site.

Publish and keep a free site online

Put your site on a free byqsite.com address in one click, share it, take it down, and keep a Free site from going offline.

Your own domain and hosting

Connect a domain you own, add the DNS records, and see what Pro, Ultra and the $15 a month hosting each cover.

Search, analytics and security settings

Control how your site appears in Google and share previews, count visitors without cookies, and see the protections every publish applies.

Forms and integrations

Collect form entries by email, send them to tools like Slack or Google Sheets, and add analytics, chat and booking widgets.

Export, archive and delete

Download your site as a Next.js project on Ultra, archive a site to free a slot, or delete it for good.

Emails and troubleshooting

The emails the builder sends about your sites, and what to do when you see an error message.
