Before any setup, here's the short version: what you need, what works, and how much effort each tool actually takes. The snippets themselves live in the next chapter — most people need only one of them.
The MCP is part of the Pro and Ultra plans. There's no MCP on Free — without an active plan there's no key to generate and no connection to authorize. Upgrading takes a couple of clicks if you're on Free and want to try it.
Everything except the Claude app uses a key. Connecting your AI tool has the exact snippet for each, already filled in for you.
You generate it on your MCP setup page, and it's shown once — store it like a password. You can revoke or rotate keys anytime under Settings → Developers. The setup page drops your key into the snippet for you, so in practice you're copying and pasting rather than typing anything out.
Restart your tool so it picks up the new server, then just mention BYQ in any prompt. You don't need to name components or tool functions — describe what you want and your AI maps it to the right search. A few to start with:
Nine times out of ten it's a missed restart — most tools only load a new server when they start up. If it still can't see BYQ, the next-likeliest culprit is a mistyped or truncated key. Both, plus the per-tool snippets, are covered in Connecting your AI tool.
